We make hybrid designed floorboards with a solid surface and an engineered base
Earthwood’s reclaimed timbers are removed by hand during the building deconstruction process (see Fig. 1 below). These structural timbers are graded for quality, de-nailed and cut to size.
The timber is re-hydrated and moisture balanced in controlled kilns to meet international standards for machining and drying. Only then is it precision milled to final form.
This rigorous process guarantees the structural integrity and durability of all Earthwood flooring products. We are so confident in our Earthwood Flooring products, we offer 25 years warranty across the entire range.
Earthwood flooring is supplied in a natural raw form to provide our customers with greater flexibility when selecting finishes, stains and sheen levels.
The hardwood surface layer is supplied pre sanded, requiring only a light buffing prior to finishing and coating.
The hardwood surface layer has the same re-sandable depth of timber found in traditional solid flooring, so it can be resurfaced in the future.
Earthwood floors can be installed as a floating floor, or as a traditional glued and nailed timber floor installation.
Re-Sand It, Resurface It
With a solid floorboard, you cannot re-sand the plank below the tongue and groove line (dotted line) – it’s timber you pay for, but will never actually see.
Earthwood engineered flooring has recycled Australian hardwood above the tongue and groove line, where it can be sanded and re-sanded as often as solid boards, and a layer of strong and stable engineered board at the base.
You get great looking Australian hardwood on the top, and engineered strength where it’s needed below.
